Foundational
Survey Fabric
The canonical home of BitPangea’s permanent spatial reference architecture.
The Foundational Survey Fabric is the established architectural domain for the exact spatial reference system beneath higher World structures. Its purpose is to preserve stable, implementation-independent spatial truth without absorbing Parcel identity, ownership, rendering, infrastructure, governance, or civilizational meaning.
This page establishes the permanent institutional home for that architecture within The Atlas. Its governing record is organized through four linked frameworks: Requirements, Specification, Conformance, and Reference Vectors. Together they preserve a clear separation between what the Survey Fabric must satisfy, how its mathematics are formally defined, how implementations prove compatibility, and how expected results are tested.
Atlas Working Principle The deepest layer should preserve spatial truth, not the civilization built upon it.
Standing
Architectural Role
The foundational spatial reference architecture beneath Spatial Ground and the demonstrated spatial dependency that proceeds through General Spatial Interpretation to the Parcel Cadastre. Other architectural domains may depend upon its canonical spatial truth without thereby forming one universal linear stack.
Status
Institutionally established as an Atlas architectural domain. FSF-SPEC-1.0 is canonically adopted as the governing Foundational Survey Fabric Specification, with FSF-CJSON-1.0 as the canonical machine serialization for the adopted production profile.
Authority
The Foundation and The Codex constrain what must remain true. The Atlas records the architectural design that gives those truths durable spatial expression.
Governing Framework
The Foundational Survey Fabric is organized through four institutional layers. Each has a distinct role, and together they form the complete architectural path from accepted requirements to independently reproducible implementation results.
Requirements
Establishes the complete set of conditions the Foundational Survey Fabric must satisfy.
Framework 02Specification
Defines the formal mathematics and canonical rules through which the accepted requirements are satisfied.
Framework 03Conformance
Defines how an implementation demonstrates that it correctly follows the governing Specification.
Framework 04Reference Vectors
Provides executable, parameterized, negative, and adversarial proof obligations derived from the governing Specification. Reference Vectors demonstrate the Specification; they do not create it.
Architectural Sequence Requirements establishes what must be satisfied. Specification defines the mathematics that satisfies it. Conformance defines how an implementation proves it follows the Specification. Reference Vectors demonstrate the Specification through exact, parameterized, negative, and adversarial fixtures. They do not create missing mathematics or canonical authority.
Requirements Traceability
Requirements Traceability Matrix
The Requirements Traceability Matrix provides the institutional view of how every audited Finding #1–#85 moves through the Foundational Survey Fabric: Requirement → Specification → Conformance → Reference Vectors. It preserves Requirements ownership while showing where adopted Specification rules, Conformance obligations, and Reference Vector evidence satisfy or demonstrate those Requirements.
The matrix preserves authoritative Requirements ownership while allowing later layers to realize, test, and demonstrate those requirements without rewriting them. Findings #84 and #85 remain intentionally outside mathematical Specification ownership where they govern Conformance and readiness rather than canonical mathematics.
Forward and reverse traceability are maintained across the four-framework architecture. The Reference Vector framework preserves subsection-level reverse traceability across all twelve sections and 144 Reference Vector subsections. Any remaining traceability-matrix maintenance is documentary and must not be used to alter adopted FSF mathematics from outside the Specification.
Open Requirements Traceability Matrix →Adopted Mathematical Core
The Foundational Survey Fabric now has an adopted production mathematical baseline under FSF-SPEC-1.0. The core is exact, executable, independently testable, and sufficient to provide canonical Survey geometry and reference beneath Spatial Ground.
Exact Reference
CRPC provides exact reduced rational Pang coordinates. ECEM governs compatible precision and refinement without migrating established place.
Primitive Geometry
Point · Segment · SCPE form the adopted primitive geometry core for the current production profile, supported by exact rational predicates and deterministic validation.
Canonical Form
Deterministic normalization and FSF-CJSON-1.0 provide the adopted canonical machine representation for supported objects.
Continuity Doctrine Representations may evolve. Canonical place may not drift.
The adopted lineage model distinguishes mathematical identity, representation identity, format identity, and Specification identity. Compatible evolution may change governed representation or format only where lossless, deterministic correspondence preserves the same normalized mathematical object and established canonical place. The governing succession form is FSF-SPEC-MAJOR.MINOR: compatible evolution preserves canonical place; an incompatible transition requires a new major version and separate governance.
Adopted Survey Domain and Production Profile
The adopted Foundational Survey Fabric establishes one finite canonical Survey Domain and a governed production placement envelope beneath Spatial Ground.
Survey Domain
The canonical Survey Domain is the closed axis-aligned square D = [-1,000,000,+1,000,000]² Pang, centered at (0,0). Its half-span H = 1,000,000 Pang is a governed foundational design constant.
Production Placement Envelope
The governed production placement envelope is P = [-500,000,+500,000]² Pang. Production World-space must remain strictly inside interior(P), which itself lies strictly inside interior(D).
Reserved Extended Capability
Broader Boolean / composite-result closure and other mathematics outside the adopted production profile remain reserved rather than silently inferred. Conformance and Reference Vectors may expose those boundaries but may not create missing Specification behavior.
Purpose of This Space
The Foundational Survey Fabric exists to ensure that BitPangea can preserve place across changing implementations, technologies, interfaces, and civilizational systems. It now provides the canonically adopted Survey foundation consumed by Spatial Ground, whose adopted World-space instance references FSF geometry without redefining it. Higher spatial systems may build upward from that established foundation without rewriting it.
Its governing direction is deliberately minimal: one canonical spatial truth, exact and deterministic in meaning, capable of extensible precision and independent implementation, while higher layers remain free to define Parcels, World-space, rights, infrastructure, and experience. Compatible evolution may expand representational capability, but it may not move, renumber, reinterpret, or silently migrate established canonical place.
Atlas Working Principle Survey first. Build later.
Architectural Boundary The Survey Fabric knows space, not the things in space.
Architecture Boundary Rule Protect the boundary. Do not design the layer above from the layer below.
Demonstrated dependency: Foundational Survey Fabric → Spatial Ground → General Spatial Interpretation → Parcel Cadastre. The FSF → Spatial Ground portion is now canonically established; the active strict handoff proceeds upward from Spatial Ground to General Spatial Interpretation. This does not imply that every Architecture domain belongs to one universal dependency chain.
Current standing: Foundational Survey Fabric is an established Architecture domain with FSF-SPEC-1.0 canonically adopted. The canonical Survey Domain, production placement envelope, exact core geometry, normalization, precision model, serialization, Conformance architecture, and Reference Vector framework are established for the adopted production profile. Broader capabilities outside that profile remain reserved unless later specified through governed FSF evolution.
