Continuity, History, and Verification Architecture

The canonical home of BitPangea’s persistence, provenance, and continuity architecture.

Persistence / Provenance is the provisional architectural domain for preserving durable state, historical continuity, record lineage, verification, and canonical succession across BitPangea. Its purpose is to ensure that important records can remain intelligible, traceable, and verifiable across changing implementations and institutions without making historical state part of the Foundational Survey Fabric itself.

This page establishes the permanent institutional home for that architecture within The Atlas. It is intentionally concise while the governing record is being formalized, allowing the domain to remain visible without presenting incomplete persistence mechanisms, provenance models, or canonical succession rules as established architecture.

Atlas Working Principle Persistence preserves continuity. Provenance preserves trust in how that continuity is known.

Standing

Structural Domain

The architectural domain through which durable state, historical records, lineage, verification, and canonical succession may be preserved without redefining the permanent spatial foundation. Its responsibility is cross-cutting and may apply to multiple Architecture domains rather than occupying one fixed position in a universal dependency stack.

Status

Provisional as an Atlas architectural domain. Its purpose and separation from foundational spatial truth are established at a working level; its exact persistence model, provenance structure, verification methods, and succession rules remain open.

Authority

The Foundation and The Codex constrain what must remain true. The Atlas records the architectural design through which those truths receive durable structural expression.

Purpose of This Space

Persistence / Provenance exists to preserve continuity across change. It provides the architectural space through which BitPangea can retain trustworthy records of state, history, lineage, authorship, validation, and succession even as implementations, services, institutions, and technologies evolve.

Its governing direction is deliberately bounded: preserve evidence of what changed, what endured, where a record came from, and how canonical continuity was established without allowing provenance or persistence machinery to redefine foundational spatial truth. Verification technology may change; the meaning of the records being preserved should remain recoverable and independently understandable.

Atlas Working Principle Continuity should survive the systems used to preserve it.
Architectural Boundary Persistence records what endures and changes. Provenance records how that record can be trusted.

Dependency standing: Persistence / Provenance depends upon stable canonical meanings, records, or state defined elsewhere in The Architecture, but no strict linear position has yet been established between this domain and Identity / Rights / Control, Interoperability, World Runtime, or Experience Architecture. Its relationships should be resolved individually as those domains mature.
