The Codex

The Canonical Record of Discovery

The Codex is the canonical record of discovered knowledge within BitPangea. Organized into Domains and preserved through individual Codices, it records the objective concepts revealed through inquiry as The World gradually becomes understood.

Codex Principle This document does not define the world. It records the search for what the world may become.

The Codex Domains

The Codex is organized into Domains that preserve distinct areas of inquiry. Each Domain serves as the canonical home for a particular class of knowledge, while individual Codices preserve the discoveries recognized within that Domain.

The Structural Domain

The canonical home of structural inquiry, preserving the foundational vocabulary through which The World is described.

The Relational Domain

The canonical home of relational inquiry, preserving the foundational grammar through which structural elements are understood together.

The World Properties Domain

The canonical home of World Property inquiry, preserving the objective properties possessed by The World and the categories through which they are recognized.

The Codex Register

As discoveries mature into adopted Codices, they are preserved within The Codex Register. The Register serves as the permanent historical record of the knowledge recognized within The Codex.

Each adopted Codex is recorded by Domain, title, sequence, and adoption date, preserving the historical development of BitPangea as the World becomes progressively understood.

The Codex Register

A permanent record of adopted Codices. The Register preserves the constitutional history of BitPangea, documenting each formal definition as it is added to The Codex.

The Codex Principles

As Codices are adopted, certain principles emerge from the definitions themselves. The Codex Principles preserve those recurring doctrines so they may be referenced, reviewed, and carried forward as BitPangea continues to define its world.

The Principles do not replace the Codices. They collect the constitutional lessons revealed through them.

The Codex Principles

A growing record of foundational principles discovered through The Codex, including existence, distinction, position, relation, permanence, neutrality, and the separation of cartography from ownership.

Current Working Concepts

  • One World: BitPangea is imagined as a single unified digital supercontinent.
  • 21 Million Parcels: The world is constrained by a finite parcel supply.
  • No Expansion: The map should not be arbitrarily enlarged once defined.
  • No Duplication: The world should not be copied into competing official versions.
  • No Authority: No central power should be able to alter the map on a whim.
  • Built to Endure: The project should be designed for long-term permanence rather than short-term spectacle.

Open Questions

  • How should parcels be created, discovered, or assigned?
  • What determines the geometry of a parcel?
  • How should the world be mapped before ownership exists?
  • What technical system can preserve ownership without central control?
  • Should BitPangea use an existing blockchain, a layered approach, or another structure entirely?
  • How should governance emerge without compromising the founding constraints?
  • What belongs permanently in the world, and what should remain outside it?

Historical Concepts

Several ideas have already become important historical reference points during the first days of BitPangea.

  • The Atlas Principle: Before ownership can be claimed, the world must first be mapped.
  • Genesis Parcel (Lot 0): A permanently reserved monument to the origins of BitPangea.
  • The First Stone: A preserved record of the world's earliest public appearance.
  • 21 Epoch Model: A possible future release structure involving 21 epochs of 1,000,000 parcels each.

Deferred Decisions

BitPangea is intentionally avoiding premature commitments in areas where the wrong decision could define the world too early.

  • Blockchain selection
  • Parcel issuance mechanics
  • Ownership transfer rules
  • Governance structure
  • Economic model
  • Map generation and parcel geometry
  • Long-term stewardship and succession

What The Codex Is Not

The Codex is not a whitepaper, protocol specification, roadmap, investment document, or promise of future implementation.

It is a record of inquiry. It exists so future builders can understand not only what decisions were made, but what questions existed before the decisions.

For Future Readers If this record survives, let it show that BitPangea began not with answers, but with restraint.
