## Definition

A Contiguity is the cartographic condition by which two or more Parcels are connected through an unbroken path of Adjacencies within BitPangea.

## The Definition

The existence of Adjacencies within BitPangea makes connection possible.

A Contiguity exists not to establish ownership, governance, access, jurisdiction, value, settlement, or claim, but to describe the connected structure formed by neighboring Parcels.

Without Adjacencies, Parcels may be distinguished but cannot be understood as connected.

Without Contiguity, the world cannot be understood as a unified whole.

## Formal Definition

A Contiguity is the cartographic condition by which two or more Parcels are connected through an unbroken path of Adjacencies within BitPangea.

A Contiguity is a property of the world's structure rather than a property of any individual Parcel.

## Immutable Properties

Every Contiguity possesses the following immutable properties:

### Connection

A Contiguity exists when Parcels remain connected through one or more Adjacencies.

### Dependence

A Contiguity depends upon the existence of Parcels, Boundaries, Coordinates, and Adjacencies.

### Continuity

A Contiguity requires an unbroken path of Adjacencies between connected Parcels.

### Structure

A Contiguity describes the connected structure formed by many Parcels rather than the characteristics of any single Parcel.

### Permanence

Once established within the canonical structure of the world, a Contiguity cannot be fragmented, reassigned, or dissolved without altering the world's cartographic structure.

### Neutrality

A Contiguity does not assign ownership, governance, jurisdiction, value, access, rights, or purpose. It merely describes connection.

## Foundational Principles

### 1. Contiguity Requires Adjacency

Contiguity cannot exist without Adjacencies. Every Contiguity is formed through one or more Adjacencies between Parcels.

### 2. Connection Emerges Through Relation

Parcels become connected through cartographic relationships rather than through ownership, governance, settlement, commerce, or activity.

### 3. Contiguity Preserves Distinction

A Contiguity may connect many Parcels, but connection does not erase individuality. Distinction remains even within connection.

### 4. A Contiguity Is Not A Claim

Connection does not establish ownership, stewardship, authority, jurisdiction, access, or control.

### 5. The World Remains Whole

BitPangea itself constitutes a single Contiguity. Every Parcel within the supercontinent is connected through an unbroken path of Adjacencies.

### 6. No Parcel Exists In Cartographic Isolation

Every Parcel participates in the greater structure of BitPangea. No Parcel exists outside the world's Contiguity.
