Record 0003 The past became evidence. Verified
Record 0004 What happened could be known again. Enduring

Before the Digital World could remember itself, events disappeared when the moment ended.

The Ledger gave events duration.

What was written could remain after the writer was gone.

What was recorded could be examined by someone who had not witnessed it.

Actions could leave evidence.

Agreements could survive memory.

History no longer depended entirely upon recollection.

The Ledger did not compute.

It did not carry the message.

It did not reveal the world or search through it.

It preserved what the world had done.

Memory became record.

Record became permanence.

Permanence made accountability possible.

The Digital World had acquired a past.

What happened left a record.

The Ledger preserves more than stored information.

It preserves the idea that the past can remain present as evidence.

A record can outlive the moment that created it.

And what endures can be remembered, examined, and held to account.
